What are the highest-rated PSP and Nintendo DS games?
The results may surprise you. As the Sony PSP and Nintendo DS battle for supremacy in the handheld gaming market, the struggle inevitably comes down to games. The Nintendo DS has a lot, which gives players a great deal of choice but also brings accusations that the system is a breeding ground for “shovelware”. The Sony PSP by contrast has fewer games, but these tend to cater to an older, more mature audience.
Testfreaks is a new video game review site which aggregates scores similarly to Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes. The combination of user and professional reviews gives us a pretty good sense of what games are the best for each respective system.
On that site, the top 3 rated PSP games are God of War: Chains of Olympus, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 and Patapon. God of War PSP scored a perfect Freakscore of 10/10, making it the number one game on the system.
On the Nintendo DS side of things, the two three rated games are The World Ends With You, Contra 4 and Final Fantasy Tactics: A2. While we definitely enjoyed the quirky RPG beat-em-up The World Ends With You on the DS, we’re not sure we would give it the top spot among so many other great games. Final Fantasy Tactics definitely deserves its position in the top three, however, and we recommend everyone go and check it out.
