Where is my ceramic white PSP 3000, Sony?

Feast your eyes on this beautiful piece of machinery. The ceramic white PSP, long promised to North American gamers but never delivered, remains an import-only prize for now. When the PSP 3000 officially launched in Japan, it came in three colors: Piano black, Mystic Silver, and Ceramic White. For some reason, only the silver and black versions have made it to North America, in the ever familiar Ratchet and Clank bundles.
In fact, up until now, the only way you could buy a white PSP in North America was as a special Star Wars limited Edition PSP Slim. But then again, it’s not totally white if it has Darth Vader’s ugly face printed all over it. Why hasn’t Sony released a real white PSP SKU here in the States? Does the Japanese company think that Americans are somehow afraid of the blinding intensity of the color? We got those other bright red and blue PSP 2000 units, but where is the rainbow of subtle color schemes that we were promised way back in the pre-launch days? Pistachio, fucshia, cyan blue, even yellow would be interesting choices. The competing Nintendo DS has some downright crazy color combinations, and they seem to be selling well.
Instead, for the PSP 3000, Sony has once again stuck to predictable colors. Black and metallic silver are pretty safe bets, and they do look good on the system. However, in terms of pure beauty and simplicity of design, nothing compares to the gorgeous ceramic white PSP. Bring it out soon Sony!
