Nintendo brings DS demos via the Wii
DS owners have been able to download game demos and trailers to try on their system for a little while. Unfortunately, as many of you know, this process involved a trip to the local game or electronics store, and any downloadable content would expire as soon as the system was turned off. Nintendo would be bringing this service to our homes via the Wii and the Nintendo Channel, and it has finally happened. Using your Wii as a Download Station of sorts, you can access the DS Demos feature of the recently-released Nintendo Channel and download game demos to multiple DS systems. Considering Nintendo’s heavy approach to casual gamers, we aren’t surprised to see this type of DS demos from day one. Hopefully we get some more support down the road, especially with games such as Trauma Center 2, Final Fantasy IV, and Final Fantasy Tactics A2 well on their way. You can also watch DS info videos and trailers on the Nintendo Channel itself, for games such as Professor Layton, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time / Darkness; a free and neat way to check out games you might be considering to purchase.
