Five things you could be doing instead of watching the Super Bowl
Every year at this time, the National Football League brings us another crappy great Super Bowl broadcast. While most of you prepare for the “big game”, others are thinking about what they’ll be doing while everyone else watches the biggest sporting event of the year.
So, allow me to present you with some gaming-related, and even non-gaming related things you could potentially be doing while everyone else watches the Super Bowl:
1. Tone your skills in Advance Wars: Days of Ruin. If you’re anything like me, you’re probably beating down your self-esteem everytime you lose a battle online. So, with so much free time on your hands, why not practice your strategic skills through some online; or even offline, match ups? If you haven’t bought the game yet, well then, shame on you. Go buy it now.
2. Play a virtual Super Bowl through Madden NFL 08. Don’t like the teams in the Super Bowl this year? Then make up your own Super Bowl with the teams you’d ideally want in it. Yeah, it may be a bad way to escape reality, but hey… we all have our crazy moments, don’t we? I’m sure your virtual Super Bowl would be a better thing to bet on than the real Super Bowl. Seriously.
3. Finalize your decision on who to vote for in this vital upcoming election. If you live in the United States, you know what I’m talking about. With Super Tuesday coming up (wow, lots of “super” stuff this week, huh?), it’s time to decide who to vote for in this key election. Hillary Clinton, or Barack Obama? John McCain, or Mitt Romney? If you’re still undecided, turn on your TV to a news station and watch away. If you’re still too young to vote, then watch it anyway. It’s always good to be caught up on today’s politics.
4. Experiment with your homebrew tools. If you still don’t seem to quite understand how homebrew works, why not experiment with it a little while you have the free time? Judging by the articles written by my co-writers, it’s more complicated than it appears. If you need help, don’t hesitate to check out our articles or ask for help in the shoutbox to the right of the screen.
5. Catch up on the latest news with portablevideogamer.com! What? I’m not trying to blatantly advertise… not at all… Anyway, PVG can always be your last resort if you’ve got nowhere else to go or nothing else to do on this lonely Super Bowl Sunday! Don’t hesitate to stop by for a nice lengthy discussion!
If you plan on watching the Super Bowl, then I suppose you could probably disregard this entire post. If you’re like me and don’t really give two cents about the Super Bowl, then give the above mentioned suggestions some serious thought! Who knows, you may even find some of our tips more useful than you think?
