E for All 2008 dated

The spiritual successor to the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), E for All, has at last received a firm date for its second showing. The event will be held from October 3rd to October 5th this autumn. Originally, it had been planned to be held from August 28th to the 30th, but the date was just recently pushed back (most likely due to the Penny Arcade Expo being held at the same time in August… not to mention Leipzig).
The E for All Expo was met with reasonable success last October. Unlike E3, E for All is open to the public, yet surprisingly the convention was nowhere near as crowded as the famous E3 gaming convention. Most likely, this is due to the “big three’s” lacking commitment to E for All as a standard gaming convention. While all three participated in the event last year, not one of them had a spectacular showing or flood of news come out during the time frame. Depending on your outlook on things, this could be seen as a good thing or a bad thing. The good aspect of this is that all three companies (Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft) are willing to keep the beloved E3 alive and kicking despite its sharp decline in scale. The bad news, is that we won’t be seeing any gaming convention near the former E3-calibur any time soon, as even the Tokyo Game Show has its fair share of issues (Nintendo doesn’t participate in the event).
Regardless, if you plan on attending the E for All Expo this fall, start planning now. If you just don’t have the time or money to attend the event, PVG (hopefully) will be reporting from the event later this year.

Neat; instead of the old date, I’ll be on my quarterly break then. This 6-week delay gives us a bit more time to prepare, too
