Downloadable Wipeout Pulse content not free in Europe
Here I was, having a pretty good week, when Sony’s Liverpool Studio had to come out of nowhere and totally kill my buzz, man. Turns out that the latest and greatest downloadable content (or DLC) for the studio’s blockbuster sequel Wipeout Pulse has just been released in Europe. The pack, which contains two additional tracks and a new team, is available on a pay-per-download basis in the UK. Granted, the price is not that steep — the first set of tracks will cost £3.49 (or $6.80 US) — but the fact that the company has decided to charge for this content at all is a bit of a surprise.
Free content was one of the best features of the first Wipeout title on the PSP, and it helped catapult the game to the status of a must-have for many fans. The availability of downloadable add-ons also kept the game fresh for months after any typical racing title would have long since gone stale. To come out and charge consumers now for what (many of us) expected to be free is a bit of a jerk move, in our opinion. What do you think?
Thanks: [PSP Fanboy]

I want a map editor for that game. It can’t be that hard to do that? Remember how much Quake 3 Arena got popular because of its editor?

I agree, a map editor would be incredible. But they’d probably charge extra for that too!
