New details unfold on Assassin’s Creed: Altair Chronicles
Assassin’s Creed, which released this past November for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, has quickly become an instant classic for gamers. It has sold past 2.5 million copies worldwide since its release, and is considered one of the top games of 2007. It comes as no surprise then, that Assassin’s Creed DS (despite its lack of information up until this point) is one of the most anticipated Nintendo DS games of the year. At long last, we finally have details on this brand new installment in the series.
Yes, you read that right, Assassin’s Creed DS is not the mere port many were expecting, but a prologue to the original game. The game has officially been dubbed “Assassin’s Creed: Altair Chronicles.” Most of the few other details we know about this new game comes from the boxart posted above. According to the game description printed on the back of the box, Altair Chronicles is a full 3D portable take on the gameplay system previously used in the original game. That’s right, this has not been converted to a side-scroller or a game with a top-down view, but a full 3D game potentially done right on the Nintendo DS. This time around, you can expect a few twists, including stylus control that allows you to pickpocket and interrogate others. Mix in a new storyline clearing up some of the confusion over Altair’s past, and you have a game that is sure to impress.
Clearly, this is a game you’ll want to be keeping an eye on. To everyone’s surprise, it looks as if this game may actually have potential. An official release date has yet to be determined, but if rumors are correct expect to see this title in the first half of the year.

I would be funny if this game was actually more fun than the console version
