Empire Interactive bringing Myst to the Nintendo DS with added content
While the PSP version of the game appears to have been canned for North America, developers Empire Interactive have some good news for fans of the classic PC adventure game. The company announced today that they are planning to release and updated, re-mixed version of the title on the DS in North America later this year.
The DS version of the game will feature a new original score, remastered graphics and video, as well as an entirely new section of the game called the Rime Age, which was never included in the original PC adventure. Additionally, DS users will be able to take advantage of the touch screen to interact with the world, while the second screen is used to display other useful information. In order to help explore the complex and often befuddling world of Myst, players will have a bunch of new tools at their disposal, including a magnifying glass, camera, notebook, and map.
It sounds like the developers have put a lot of effort into making this title an enjoyable experience on the DS hardware. We can’t wait to see what the final product looks like when it is released in March.
