Puzzle Maniak: puzzle action homebrewed to perfection
As we have previously discussed, some homebrew games are simply great and deserve our attention, and would certainly merit a retail purchase. Yet another example has recently been released. Puzzle Maniak is a simple to use collection of 14 puzzles that offer a great deal of replay value and variety. Featured puzzles include classics such as Sudoku, Slitherlink, and a version of Picross, as well as other entertaining games like Net, Map, and Galaxies. The puzzles are randomly generated and offer different difficulty levels and grid dimensions for an even greater challenge, and trust us, many of the puzzles are quite difficult and will certainly challenge your noggin. You can also connect to the internet via Wi-Fi to download daily puzzles via Daily Training, and you can check online scores of other players and upload your own. The game also keeps track of your personal best records for future reference. The game’s controls are great for the most part; if anything, the only thing the game is missing is music and sound effects. Other than that, this puzzle collection is worthy of any homebrew DS gamer and will keep puzzle lovers busy for a very long time.
