Nintendo rumored to be working on new DS hardware
Not to be outdone by Sony, the Nintendo rumor machine has been generating some hype of its own this weekend for a new DS product apparently aimed at senior citizens. The Japanese magazine Gamelabo reports in its most recent issue that Nintendo has its eyes on a revised version of the DS hardware which will feature a larger screen and more readable fonts for users who may have a difficult time playing on the smaller machine. While this rumor might sound outlandish, it does seem to fit with the company’s avowed strategy of bringing games to as many different demographics as possible.
Having recently turned thirty (yes, people that old still play games) I like the idea of a larger screen and bigger buttons. It may just be the age talking, but I much preferred the buttons on the old NES controller to the clicky little ones they have given us on the DS Lite. Count me in as a possible customer if and when this rumor becomes a reality. What do you think? Are these changes enough to make you purchase yet another piece of Nintendo hardware? Take our readers poll and let us know!

Loved that just turned 30 comment, LOL … I am almost 31 (gasp!) and I am not quite in the market for something like that. Pretty neat that options are out there though. I will still be gaming when I am older so I will buy it in a few decades.

Kris,
Whats with the “23″ — does this DS finally have the full etch-a-sketch integration i’ve been waiting for?
