New Final Fantasy title announced for PSP

It looks as though Crisis Core will not be the only new Final Fantasy property making its way to the PSP platform. Square Enix has set up a teaser site for a previously-unknown PSP project called Final Fantasy: Dissidia. So far, nothing is known about this title, except that it apparently does not fit into the numbered scheme of the series, meaning that Square has either decided to give up on sequels after XIII, or they intend this to be a spin-off from the series. That opens up almost endless possibilities for this game: it could literally be anything from a Final Fantasy -themed card battler to a chocobo kart racer. At this point we are hoping that it doesn’t turn out to be either of those things, but we will have to wait for the Square Enix press event this weekend to learn more.
