Is Blue Dragon coming to a DS near you?
The folks over at Magic Box are reporting that Mistwalker, the developers of Blue Dragon, are considering a sequel to the Xbox 360 game if sales are strong enough in North America. Strong sales are almost assured given the early hype for this anime-inspired RPG, the first of its kind for the 360. The other juicy tidbit of news to come from the announcement is that Mistwalker is also considering the possibility of making a DS version of Blue Dragon. While this would require some creative use of the DS hardware and some obvious downscaling, we think the fun and colorful style of the game makes it a perfect fit for the DS and it would undoubtedly find clever uses for the two vertical screens.
It looks like the Nintendo handheld is rapidly becoming an RPG powerhouse, with a bevy of Final Fantasy titles, the upcoming Dragon Quest XIII and now a promising newcomer. If we stop regularly updating PVG, you’ll know why.
